In my opinion every boy needs two fathers, and no I am not talking about female polygamy. What I am talking about is if your goal is for your son to be more than just a good man, you want your son to be a godly man then that boy needs two fathers. If your goal is for your boy to grow into a godly man here on earth and have eternal life in Heaven then your son needs two fathers. If your goal is for your boy to walk in blessings and to be a blessing to others than your boy needs two fathers.

Every boy needs two fathers

In my opinion every boy needs two fathers, and no I am not talking about female polygamy. What I am talking about is if your goal is for your son to be more than just a good man, you want your son to be a godly man then that boy needs two fathers. If your goal is for your boy to grow into a godly man here on earth and have eternal life in Heaven then your son needs two fathers. If your goal is for your boy to walk in blessings and to be a blessing to others than your boy needs two fathers.

The first father a boy needs is a father that will never, ever, ever walk away or abandon him, for He is always there wherever your son goes. A father that goes to camp with your son, a father that goes to school with your son and a father that goes to parties with your son.

This father has not only an answer but He always has the right answer, for He knows everything. Your son can go to him to seek advise about all the unknowns or confusing things the world has to offer. Questions such as: “Did man really come from apes?” “Why do evil men win sometimes?” “Why do I have to wait till I am married to have sex?”

Lastly, our sons need a father who has and knows how to handle power. For when our sons begin to experience their second testosterone rush they will feel invincible. They need a father who has demonstrated how not to kill your enemies but will say, “Pray for them.” Our sons need a father that will them how to use their strength and power to subdue and dominate with love. Our sons need a father that has power to lash out and hurt but will choose to stay quiet and sacrifice.

Steve Farrar in his book “King Me” says it this way, “It may be hard on some fathers not to have a son but it is much harder on a boy not to have a father.” Our heavenly father shows us the importance of the father and son relationship all throughout the New Testament. Jesus lets us know the importance of His relationship with His father when He says, ““Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” – Luke 2:49. Dave Simmons, who trains fathers all over the country proclaims: “Plan A for training family shepherds is the original, God-designed plan that calls for onsite, hands-on training in a master/apprentice relationship. It is a decentralized program with an instructor/student ratio of 1:2, 1:3 or 1:4 and takes anywhere from sixteen to twenty-two years. Fathers are supposed to equip boys to become effective family shepherds.”

His statement points to the heart of God’s command that we be fruitful and multiply. That is we procreate and duplicate God’s family on earth.

Power Paren-T-een Tip of the Week:

Only when a father is intentionally walking with his son and training his son will we multiply sons who grow into godly men with hearts of shepherds.
