NO PDA!
The Detroit News ran a photo of Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick shaking hands with his former Chief of Staff, Christine Beatty, was taken earlier this week at a court hearing surrounding new evidence in the text messaging scandal. While it is common knowledge that the mayor and Beatty were romantically involved, it would seem that common sense would prevail under the current circumstances and tell them not to come within one hundred feet of each other.

If you were to analyze the photo, you will see that the look on his face is one that says he is obviously concerned about her well-being. That in and of itself is not a bad thing because, yes, they have been friends for years, and considering the fact that he still has his job and she has to seek employment out of state, he should feel a little bad for her. But again, under the circumstances common sense screams NO PDA! That includes handshakes that look more like hand-holding and intimate reassurance!

From the side view of her profile, we can only imagine what the look on her face must be. But even more than that, what the look on Mrs. Kilpatrick’s face must have been like if she saw this picture!

Mr. Mayor, actions speak louder than words, so please be more mindful of your actions. More forethought and foresight may make for smoother trial proceedings. Never forget, the cameras are always watching.

Kilpatrick was not showing any concern for Christine. He was, and always will be, showing concern for himself. The look on his face definitely said, Is she mad? Do I still have her on my side? And her look said, Hell no! She did not even look him in the eyes.
