Major fundraiser for Black museum hit by floods

Paschal Eze

Facing $700,000 worth of damages from raging floods in June, the 17,000 square foot African American museum in Iowa is appealing for donation to save a historical depository.

Paschal Eze, Iowa resident and senior certified training consultant at Reputation Training International, has initiated an aggressive online effort to raise funds for the museum called the Count Me In Campaign. The museum was modeled after Detroit’s Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. Tom Moore, the museum’s executive director, says donations to the museum are 100 percent tax deductible.

The online fundraising event runs Aug. 22-24. Those who wish to donate can visit http://blog.blackiowa.org/ www.reputationtraining.com or make their checks out to the African American Museum of Iowa and mail them to Count Me In Campaign, African American Museum of Iowa, P.O. Box 1626, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52406.
