I’ve made my mind up and I don’t think I can be moved. I am absolutely, positively sticking to this decision: I can no longer eat store-bought cookies. Keebler, Oreo, Pepperidge Farm Chessmen and Chocolate Chunk Pecan. . . I can’t do it anymore.

I try to never complain about the weather. After all, regardless of whether it rains or snows, it’s still a day that I was able to see. But I can’t help but notice that it’s taken an extremely long time to even give us a semblance of summer. Even as the days are getting longer, I’m still wearing heavy clothes and even jackets.

One of my favorite vegetables is collard greens. I love greens like some people like chocolate. When I taste an exceptional batch, my eyes roll to the back of my head and I let out a huge sigh. Pure bliss.
