Winfrey Urges Detroiters To Vote On Nov. 3

JaniceWinfrey

Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey, in a recent statement, urged Detroiters to consider the historical nature of the Nov. 3 election.

The statement reads, “As your city clerk I’d like to share with you how important it is for you to vote.

“The act of voting allows elected officials to hear from you loud and clearly. Detroit voted in record numbers during the presidential election. As a result, we elected the first African-American president in the history of the United States of America.

“Your voice was heard, your vote was counted. Let’s continue the progress and let’s continue to vote in every election. Because it’s not only your right, it’s the right thing to do.”
