At the Michigan Chronicle, we believe our role extends far beyond traditional media outlets. Part of our commitment is to make sure that the African-American experience is publicly celebrated throughout our pages. There is no better way to do this than through enhancing our faith-based community, and reinvigorating the relationship between the Black press and the Black church – a partnership that goes back almost 200 years.
That is why we are proud to introduce PraiseConnectDetroit.com, a dedicated digital and print media platform devoted to faith-friendly commentary, issues, and events in southeastern Michigan and throughout the state.
With this official launch, we pay homage to the single most powerful social engine in our community — the Black church, the cornerstone of our community.
We hope that our readers will applaud PraiseConnectDetroit.com-supported efforts like the “First Ladies - First Day” Detroit Public Schools attendance campaign detailed in this week’s PraiseConnectDetroit.com section.
And we encourage attendance at special events like our “2012 Pastors Salute - Politics and the Pulpit” program, which will honor Detroit’s pastoral leaders and their role in shaping public policy and representation in this important election year.
There is a lot happening in our faith-based community. Discover it at PraiseConnectDetroit.com.
Editor’s Note: For additional information about the “2012 Pastors Salute — Politics and the Pulpit” event being held at the Ambassador Ballroom at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Hotel on Saturday, Sept 29, at 10 a.m., or to learn more about PraiseConnectDetroit.com, call Tenesha Grimmett at 313.963.8100, Ext. 234 or visit our website: www.praiseconnectdetroit.com.
