Leadership in Detroit fiddles while Rome burns

Another tragic and senseless killing in the D. Downtown, central-City, where all is suppose to be safe. I awoke to the gun shoots and watched the police and EMS unit activities from my bedroom window. There is no safe place in Detroit. And the Black men are amongst the most insecure I've encountered. The killing on the Riverfront a few weeks ago was based on some punk being "dissed." Walking to my office yesterday I heard a man tell his "girlfriend" "he would go off on her if she looked at another man." Meanwhile the City's leadership is embroiled in petty politics and personality battles instead of making public safety a priority, or going on a crusade to stop violence. I've yet to read a story about City's elected officials saying, "we're made as hell ..." They are too busy posturing over who will be the next Mayor as if it matters if and when an EM arrives. And the citizens of Detroit accept this garbage.
