I'm all for a "red light" district in Detroit if it's done right. Why not make the law the same as in Windsor where pandering and solicitation are illegal but what happens in a hotel room between two consenting adults is up to them. And if one of those adults happens to be an escort who is a "working girl" as long as everybody is happy, the rules are followed and the fees and taxes get paid what's the problem? I'm certain that similar transactions happen in Detroit every day but are ad hoc, unofficial and illegal. And such "transactions" have occurred since before recorded history and will continue to happen legally or illegally no matter what we do. Let's stop being so sanctimonious. Why not admit there's a need, set up a viable, legal, practical system and leave it at that? Enough said.
