Olga's is making Detroit Market Fresh!!!

If you have driven downtown lately you have not been able to miss the huge Olga’s Kitchen sign that sits right on Woodward in the Compuware building. Some people may not be excited about Olga’s being downtown. However, this isn’t your typical Olga’s Kitchen.

According to President Matt Carpenter, Olga’s felt the need to evolve the brand a little in a more youthful, relevant way. “This isn’t happening in all our locations but in downtown urban areas, like Detroit where there are a lot of young millennials moving in and living, we wanted a more contemporary youthful feel to the brand. Carpenter said. Much of our food is still the same, but the music is a little more contemporary and the decor is a little bolder. We kept the young professionals in mind with this design.” Carpenter continued. Indeed they did, with bold colors and community tables which are great for professional pop-ups.

The design is bold, but the menu is bolder. With signature selections like the Mediterranean Olga, filled with seasoned beef and lamb with enough veggies to make you feel guilt free. The lighter side of the menu arrayed with zucchini fries and the hand tossed market fresh salads. My signature favorite is the Mediterranean spinach salad filled with spinach, grapes, bell peppers, crispy vegetable straws and Olga’s signature dressing. Which according to General Manager, Bobbie Blue, is the way he lost 35 pounds.

What I love most about this Olga’s is that there is something for everyone. If you are not really hungry try some small plates or just sit out on the patio with a glass of wine or Olga’s house made Sangria. The light citrus flavor personally refreshed my palate for the rest of the day. Need something to warm you up on a cold Michigan day? Try the Peasant Soup. Olga’s even kept in mind the most important meal of the day. Breakfast.

“Breakfast is something new to Olga’s and right now it’s only offered in Detroit.” Carpenter said. “We make four different house made breakfast sandwiches. We also have a partnership with Caribou Coffee for our coffee selections and then our pastry partner is Detroit’s own Avalon Bakery.”

The restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Take-out, delivery, and event/meeting catering services will also be available.  Orders for Olga’s Kitchen in the Compuware Building can be placed by calling the restaurant at 313-965-3740 or online at www.olgas.com. Or just dine in by visiting the restaurant at 1040 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48226.
