When it comes to politics, the city of Detroit is divided into two camps: one that  agrees outside intervention is needed from the state to keep the city from financial chaos or outright collapse, and one that believes the elected leadership should keep the power to make all decisions nessary to keep the city from bankruptcy, an emergency financial manager, or a nine-member advisory board.

The two camps have clashed many times and this morning at the 10:00am City Council meeting, protestors of the consent agreement say they will attend the meeting to support a lawsuit that challenges the legality of the agreement.

Stay tuned for live updates from the 10:00am cty council meeting. The city council will also vote today on whether it should keep the city's Human Services Department. This could make for another action backed morning in city hall. Check back for updates from the meeting.
