Monday at 8 a.m., Ty Pennington, design team leader and carpenter, surprised the Gilliam family of Armada Township, Mich. when he informed them that their home had been chosen to receive a makeover. The 120-year-old home – which potentially still contains the toxins responsible for the early death of husband/father David Gilliam – will be replaced with a new home built onsite in approximately one week.

She is the Relationship Manager for the Community Development group, where she is responsible for managing marketing programs and corporate sponsorships for the communities which Fifth Third serves. In addition, Thompson is responsible for all internal communications and is the editor and publisher of Fifth Third Bank’s weekly and quarterly newsletter. Lastly, she directs the new banking center openings and other special events at the bank. 

For starters, the Fifth Third Homeownership Mobile is back in Detroit. In what is becoming an annual excursion, the E-Bus, as we refer to it, is back in town. The bus offers the community the opportunity to come on board and receive counseling on how to obtain a mortgage. The services include free credit reports, mortgage application instruction, home listings, an evaluation of financial readiness for home ownership, and much more. There are even programs for small business owners on board.
