While Beyonce has been accused of being over supposed, chided for being aloof, and sometimes criticized for being a bit exploitive … one thing she has never been called is dull. Whenever we see her in concert, view a video or watch a Queen Bey documentary, we are captivated by the talent, the work ethic and the sheer pull of the pop stars force field.
So why would the fashion forward pop icon’s Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, be any different, any less exhilarating or any less sensational. Case in point; all the buzz around the faux nipple costume Bey wore while performing “Single Ladies” during the tour kick-off in Serbia last night.
But one has to wonder about Bey’s choice of locale’s for the eye-popping reveal …. Serbia? Serbian culture is traditionally male-dominated. Men are considered the head of the household. And while women have gained significant economic power they are still relegate to a lower social status.
But even with the gold bodysuit, complete with faux breasts and protruding nipples, the new face of H&M clothing retailer may have shocked even her Beyhive fans and H&M customers.
Remember Madonna's infamous Jean-Paul Gaultier cone bra, or Rihanna’s risqué costumes and her dining in the nude, Janet Jacksons, wardrobe malfunction and J-Lo’s nip-slip, well none of them compare (although a few come close) to Bey’s splendid splattering of her provocative wares (pun intended).
