Eastside Community PraiseFest Scheduled

On Friday, July 27 through Sunday July 29, Fellowship Non-Profit Housing Corporation, a subsidiary of Greater Christ Baptist Church at 3544 Iroquois (Mack Ave) is sponsoring its’ annual Community PraiseFest. This event is spearheaded under the leadership of Dr. James C. Perkins, pastor of Greater Christ.

Dr. Perkins, states,” Each year we bring excitement, entertainment and services to our eastside neighbors. We provide a family-friendly environment that features entertainment for the children with no-cost dental and medical services.” He further adds that health checks are preformed by Henry Ford Healthcare Systems that include cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetic screening and health education for seniors.

Additional features during the three days includes, dance performances, amusements, inflatable and mechanical rides, petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, gospel musical concerts, massage therapy and full concessions of foods.

The event runs Friday, July 27, 5pm to 9:30pm, Saturday July 28, 12-9:30pm and Sunday 9am until 4pm.  Sunday at 10am will be an old fashioned out door church service ‘up under the tent’.

Some of the sponsoring partners include Covenant Community Care Center, Henry Ford Healthcare Systems, AARP and Clear Channel Radio.
