Michelle Obama, Jimmy Fallon promote fitness with ‘mom dancing’
Category: RTM News Reel Written by theGrio

NEW YORK — In honor of her “Let’s Move!” fitness campaign, first lady Michelle Obama showed off her dance moves on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon this Friday.
The first lady and the comedian appeared in a skit called “The Evolution of Mom Dancing.” In it, Fallon, disguised as a pink and green-clad suburban “mom” — was joined by Mrs. Obama in showing off dances like the “Go Shopping, Get Groceries,” the “Just the Hands Part of ‘Single Ladies,’” the “Where’s Your Father (Get Him Back Here!),” the “Driving the Station Wagon” and the “Out of Sync Electric Slide.”
But it was the first lady who wound up getting the better of Fallon’s hip swinging suburbanite when she launched into what has become one of her signature moves: “The Dougie.”
The skit was part of an appearance on the show in which the first lady also challenged Fallon to a series of physical exercises, all designed to demonstrate the importance of keeping fit.
The two even tweeted their pre-workout rivalry before the show, which was taped Friday afternoon in New York.

Ang Lee wins Best Director award for Life of Pi.
Quentin Tarantino wins Best Original Screenplay for Django Unchained.
Anne Hathaway has gone from propping up leaden sidekick James Franco at the Academy Awards to hefting a golden statue of her own with a supporting-actress Oscar win as a doomed mother-turned-prostitute in the musical “Les Miserables.”
Austrian actor Christoph Waltz won his second supporting-actor Oscar for a Tarantino film, this time as a genteel bounty hunter in the slave-revenge saga “Django Unchained.”

Hathaway, whose perkiness helped carry her and the listless Franco through an ill-starred stint as Oscar hosts two years ago, is the third performer in a musical to win supporting actress during the genre’s resurgence in the last decade.
“It came true,” said Hathaway, who joins 2002 supporting-actress winner Catherine Zeta-Jones for “Chicago” and 2006 recipient Jennifer Hudson for “Dreamgirls.” Hathaway had warm thanks for “Les Miz

‘The Onion’ calls child actor Quvenzhané Wallis a 'c***’ on Twitter
Category: RTM News Reel Written by News One

Known for their risque satire, popular website The Onion pushed the envelope too far Oscar Night by calling 9-year-old Oscar nominee, Quvenzhané Wallis, a “c*nt” on Twitter.
Nominated for her break-out role in Beast of the Southern Wild, the future A-Lister, recently tapped to revive the role of Annie, continues to woo hearts all over Tinsel Town. Apparently forgetting what satire means, when The Onion attacked Wallis on Twitter, there was nothing humorous or vaguely intelligent about it.
Twitter instantly exploded:
The tweet has been deleted, but outraged Twitter users have taken screenshots of their feed at the time of the comment.
Of course, we all know what the Onion was going for, but they failed miserably and this is not going away.
Our Black girls deserve to cherished, respected and protected just as much as their White counterparts. Before it’s all said and done, ‘The Onion’ will understandth

BALTIMORE — Otis “Damon” Harris, a former member of the Motown group The Temptations, has died of prostate cancer. He was 62.
Chuck Woodson, a cousin serving as family spokesman, confirmed that Harris died at a Baltimore hospice last week.
Harris performed with the celebrated Motown act The Temptations from 1971 to 1975 and sang on hits including “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone” and “Superstar (Remember How You Got Where You Are).”
Woodson says joining The Temptations was “the realization of a dream” for Harris.
Harris formed a new group after leaving The Temptations and later released solo recordings.
Woodson says that in his final years, Harris established a cancer foundation that was still in its early stages when he became ill. Harris also became a strong advocate for prostate cancer screening.
