Twenty-year-old Sharmeka Moffitt (pictured) was reportedly set on fire by men as she walked on a park trail on Sunday night, according to KLTV[1].

Moffitt was reportedly walking in Civitan Park in Winnsboro, La., when she was allegedly attacked by three men who were wearing “white hoodies.” While authorities have resisted calling the incident a “hate crime,” they say that Moffitt’s car was spray painted with a number of racial slurs, which were not specified at press time.

Moffitt reportedly called 911 from the park at 8 p.m., after the incident, and is reportedly fighting for her life at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, La. The young woman is in critical condition.
Kevin Cobb, Franklin Parish sheriff, told the media in a press conference this afternoon, “This is a horrific event that will not be taken lightly.”

A homeless South Carolina man (pictured) is $200,000 richer after spending $10 on a lottery ticket in Greenville, Fox affiliate KEYC-TV reports[1].

The South Carolina Education Lottery confirmed the win. The winner declined to be identified. He bought the winning ticket at a Simon’s Liquors last week and jumped for joy after realizing that he had the winning numbers.
The man plans on purchasing a home with his winnings.
“To see a person, you know he gets $200,000 he doesn’t have a penny in his pocket but $20,” said Simon Sfeir, owner of Simons Liquors, who sold the winning ticket, according to the Associated Press[3]. Sfeir gets $2,000 of the winnings for selling the ticket.

“After he hit on that he just gave the $5 ticket to this other guy sitting up under the tree,” said Otis White, one of the winner’s friends.

Chicago Doctors Mistakenly Declare Boy Dead, Parents Sue [VIDEO]

CHICAGO — The parents of an 8-year-old boy have sued a Chicago hospital, alleging doctors pronounced their son dead though he was still alive and refused to listen to desperate relatives who insisted he continued to move his eyes and body.
The lawsuit, filed this week, accuses Mercy Hospital and Medical Center of negligence and alleges that nearly five hours passed before staff agreed to perform a cardiac ultrasound, which showed Jaylen Dorsey’s heart was beating.
“You didn’t have to be a doctor to see that the heart was pumping blood,” the boy’s father, Pink Dorsey, said at a news conference Friday.
Hospital officials deny the allegations.
Jaylen, who has a disability that keeps him bedridden and on a ventilator, was found unresponsive by his mother, Sheena Lane, on Feb. 18. He was taken to Mercy Hospital and doctors there pronounced the boy dead.

UPDATE: Dead Body At Inglewood Double Homicide Scene Believed To Be Shooting Suspect [VIDEO]

The dead body found in the home is believed to be that of suspected shooter, Desmond John Moses, 55, according to CNN.[1] The deceased was found with a hole in the head, wearing bullet-resistant armor and holding a handgun. The .38 caliber weapon is registered to Moses, but because the body was burned beyond recognition, police are waiting on autopsy results to confirm that it is him.
