Americal Idol judges

Nicki Minaj, or Roman Zolanski, or Barbie, couldn’t contain herself around the Queen Diva, Mariah Carey, and exploded at her on the ‘American Idol’ set. Both artists, along with Keith Urban, are new to the judges’ table this year, replacing Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. Randy “The Dawg” Jackson and Ryan Seacrest are the only veterans left in the mix.

TMZ reports[1]:

Sources say Nicki later threatened to “knock out” Mariah … but she said it before the video starts.

It all went down while the two were sitting at the judge’s table … with Keith Urban sitting in between them and Randy Jackson sitting on the far end, next to Mariah.

We’re told the whole thing exploded over a disagreement over a contestant’s performance.

Listen closely as you play the video … you’ll hear

Nicki  Get this s**t in self control.  Get in control.  Get in control.
Randy  Settle down, settle down
Nicki  Don’t lose your head.  Don’t lose your head (inaudible).  Don’t tell me

Mitt Romney’s Garbage Man Blasts Him In New Ad

Richard Hayes Mitt RomneyThis week, the American Federation of State, County, and Muncipal Employees (AFSCME) released an anti-Mitt Romney ad that criticizes Romney’s 47 percent comments[1] with the plight of Richard Hayes, a garbage man who actually services Romney’s house and neighborhood. To Hayes, Romney’s disparaging comments prove that he — and other workers like him — are  “invisible” to Romney and his ilk.

With spots that show Hayes jumping out of a garbage truck outside of Romney’s multi-million-dollar home, Hayes explains why his job as a sanitation worker is important:

“My name is Richard Hayes, and I pick up Mitt Romney’s trash. We’re kind of like the invisible people. He doesn’t realize that the service we provide — if it wasn’t for us, it would be a big health issue, us not picking up trash.”

Hayes then brings out the hammer on Romney when he says that while residents appreciate his efforts, Romney doesn’t:

“Residents do c

Most people believe that the gang culture in Oakland, California is only on the streets. We are slowly finding out that it’s also prevalent in the school system — and the administration is the ring leader.  Due to the disparities in discipline of White and Black students in the Oakland Unified School District, the U.S. Department of Education will send federal officials to monitor the district’s rate of out of school suspensions for Black students.

L.A. Times [1]reports:

The resolution, which the Oakland school board passed unanimously, closes an investigation by the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights into whether African American students were disciplined more frequently and harshly than their white classmates. The agreement was reached Thursday.

Last school year, African American students made up about 39% of the district’s total enrollment but accounted for 63% of students with at least o

Churches Use ‘Souls To Polls’ To Rally The Vote

Black Churches VotingMIAMI  — It’s not just the collection plate that’s getting passed around this fall at hundreds of mainly African-American and Latino churches in presidential battleground states and across the nation.

Exhorting congregations to register to vote, church leaders are distributing registration cards in the middle of services, and many are pledging caravans of “souls to the polls” to deliver the vote.

The stepped-up effort in many states is a response by activists worried that new election rules, from tougher photo identification requirements to fewer days of early voting, are unfairly targeting minority voters — specifically, African-Americans who tend to vote heavily for Democrats. Some leaders compare their registration and get-out-the-vote efforts to the racial struggle that led to the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

Hugo Chavez Says He’d Vote For Obama

Hugo Chavez Says He’d Vote For ObamaHugo Chavez Says He’d Vote For Obama

CARACAS, Venezuela — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has weighed in on the U.S. presidential race, saying he prefers President Barack Obama.

"If I were American, I'd vote for Obama," Chavez said in a televised interview that aired Sunday.

The Venezuelan leader called Obama "a good guy" and said if the U.S. president were a Venezuelan, "I think ... he'd vote for Chavez."

Chavez is running for re-election, seeking another six years in office in an Oct. 7 vote. Obama faces Republican Mitt Romney in his November re-election bid.

Venezuela has had tense relations with the U.S. government for years, even though the United States remains the top buyer of oil from the country.

"I wish we could begin a new period of normal relations with the government of the United States," Chavez said in the interview on the Venezuelan television channel Televen.

Chavez and Obama shook hands at a 2009 summit, but relations have since cooled.

The U.S. Embassy in Caracas has been without an ambassador since July
