History students around the world will soon be able to go online to retrieve almost all of the information available on the Underground Railroad’s unique contribution to U.S. pre-Civil War era history thanks to a government grant and a cooperative venture between Eastern Michigan University and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.

Conyers Wants Obama To Get Tough on Health Care | Print |  E-mail

The Associated Press reports that Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) is urging President Obama to get tough with senators who are impeding the passage of legislation to improve the health care system.


Conyers suggested that Obama emulate Lyndon Johnson and “start knocking heads together.”


The House version of the health care legislation passed 220-215 late Saturday.

Mayor Dave Bing will be among the featured speakers at the “Boys to Men:  Youth Thrust into Manhood” education forum on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Wayne County Community College Downtown Detroit Campus, 1001 W. Fort. The forum is open to the public and will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
